Copyright And Content Complaints
Updated October 9, 2026.
ArcMates respects creators and requires members to have the rights needed to share their content. Send content complaints to support@arcmates.com. Include the subject “Copyright complaint” or “Trademark complaint” so your message can be routed for review. In-app reporting is also available.
Copyright Notices
If you own the copyright or are authorized to act for the owner, include:
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- A description of the copyrighted work, or a representative list if your notice covers multiple works.
- The specific material you believe infringes and enough information to locate it, such as a URL, profile or Event identifier, room, message identifier, and date.
- Your name and contact details, including mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
- A statement that you believe in good faith that the disputed use is not authorized by the owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement that the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act for the owner of the exclusive right involved.
Consider licenses, fair use, and other legal exceptions before submitting a notice. Do not send account passwords or unrelated identity documents. Knowingly misrepresenting infringement or a mistaken removal can lead to legal liability. We may request missing information, restrict or remove content, notify the uploader, and share relevant notice details with the affected parties to handle the complaint.
Requesting Review Of A Removal
Reply to the removal notice or contact support with the content identifier and the reason you believe the decision is mistaken. Provide relevant permission or ownership information. An ordinary moderation appeal is different from a legal counter-notice. A policy violation can be reviewed under the Community Guidelines even when copyright ownership is not disputed.
U.S. Copyright Counter-Notices
If your material was removed through the U.S. copyright notice process because of a mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notice through the contact provided in your removal notice. Include your signature; the material removed and its former location; your name, address, and telephone number; and a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe in good faith the removal resulted from mistake or misidentification.
Also state that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the district where your address is located, or, if outside the United States, a district where the service provider may be found, and that you will accept service of process from the original claimant or their agent. A counter-notice contains legal declarations and may lead to court proceedings; seek independent legal advice if needed.
Under that process, a valid counter-notice is forwarded to the original claimant. Restoration ordinarily follows between 10 and 14 business days after receipt unless we receive notice that the claimant has filed a court action seeking to restrain the disputed activity. Separate lawful safety or community restrictions may still apply. Your contact information in the counter-notice will be shared with the claimant.
Repeat Infringement And Other Rights
ArcMates terminates accounts of repeat infringers in appropriate circumstances and may restrict accounts or content for other serious violations. We consider substantiated complaints, available permissions, appeals, and the circumstances rather than treating every allegation as proof.
For trademark or impersonation complaints, identify the mark or identity, your authority, the specific content, and why it is misleading or violates your rights. Include registration details where relevant. The copyright counter-notice process does not automatically apply to trademark disputes.
For privacy, harassment, or child-safety concerns, use in-app reporting or visit the Child Safety Standards. Do not download or redistribute suspected child sexual abuse material to make a report; provide the location and necessary context instead.
